 This little dog's lead is attached to a little old lady sitting on a bench, (lead above dog, lady's walking stick behind his back leg). She didn't seem to interact with the dog at all. A passing stranger gave the dog a bit of attention, and after introductions relieved his boredom for a while.
Processing consists of fairly heavy crop, resize up to size allowable, usm, convert to grayscale, brightness/contrast, border.

I elected to use a rating table to decide on what value to assign during voting.
Here̢۪s the table:
1 No Animal/People Interaction
2 Slightly Appealing, but no Animal/People Interaction
3 Moderately Appealing, but on Animal/People Interaction
4 Greatly Appealing, but no Animal/People interaction
5 Not Appealing, but possessing Animal/People Interaction
6 Slightly Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
7 Moderately Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
8 Greatly Appealing and possessing Animal People Interaction
9 Better than #8, and caused an audible sigh
10 Better than #9, and would likely declare it a favorite

I think that if the quality of the photo had been a little higher, and maybe the lighting a little nicer, this would have been a very nice photo! great capture. the black and white is a nice touch, too.

That dog is not ergonomically correct; humans shouldn't have to bend over to pat a dog ;-) Certainly a scene I'm very familiar with, though!

despite the b&w this feels too much like a snapshot to me. i feel that a shallower DOF may help.

Seems soft and not really in focus, maybe too much of a crop, this doesn't really work for me.
