Interesting attempt at a different look. Love the expressions on the man's and dog's faces. Love the holes in the jeans.
The shot looks a bit grainy, and the red-purple lighting look on the man and dog looks like a mistake, rather than intentional.

Now we know everything about you. This is charming and ingenuous (I think that is what I mean) and totally meets the challenge.
Edited for spelling.

You even look like each other! Despite the questionable technical quality of the photo, this scores for communicating the clear connection between animal and person. |

I elected to use a rating table to decide on what value to assign during voting.
Here̢۪s the table:
1 No Animal/People Interaction
2 Slightly Appealing, but no Animal/People Interaction
3 Moderately Appealing, but on Animal/People Interaction
4 Greatly Appealing, but no Animal/People interaction
5 Not Appealing, but possessing Animal/People Interaction
6 Slightly Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
7 Moderately Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
8 Greatly Appealing and possessing Animal People Interaction
9 Better than #8, and caused an audible sigh
10 Better than #9, and would likely declare it a favorite |

Ohhhh, such a sweet, loving look on the dog's face. But I'm afraid the quality of the photo kills it :( |

Don't know if the grainy look was intentional but it seems to work with this photo. Kind of gives it an old time look. Composition is not too bad. Good looking dog. 8 |

I think this would be a very sweet photo if the quality and colors were a little better. |

Man this guy looks familiar. A bit too straightforward in meeting the challenge to score the brown though. And even though the editing is a bit on the harsh side (just a bit) for some reason it works. |

I'm seeing a lot of expression on the dog's face; the human's is less clear. Probably would have gone for B&W on this to minimize some of the background distractions, including the noise. |

Your dog is your best friend. Good to get him also looking at the camera. Shot meets challenge, but too much noise from the low lighting for my liking however. |
