I paid the $25 again, just so I could enter this. I hope it was worth it! (just kidding...I'd been meaning to join again anyway....someday)
We took in a beautiful Sunday along Main Street in Historic Ellicott City, MD. I spent most of the day shooting for the Camera Movement challenge. While waiting for my wife and daughter to come out af a girly shop, I saw a man with this dog across the street. I have never in my life walked up to someone and asked if I could take their picture or their animal's picture. I got up the nerve this time and I'm glad I did! I think I heard the guy call the dog Marco, but if not, it seems like a good name for him. He looks like a Marco.

The dog was originally on the right, but I decided to flip it. I figure the eye goes left to right in most cases, and rather than seeing the big empty space and then the dog, I hope to draw attention to the dog first. |

Oh that eye! You show us just enough. (Robert de Niro in his later movies perhaps). |

I saw this picture last night and I almost cried when I saw it. This looks like the dog I had when I was growing up and it really touched me as a photograph. You did an amazing job with shooting and processing this photo. Too bad it didn't finish higher it is really an under rated photo. Gave ya a 10 |

I would have done the same thing, but interestingly, that left-to-right movement is not universal. Mostly it has to do with how we read. People with languages that read right-to-left tend to look that way at pictures as well. |

I think your choice to flip this works, and I love the shot. Makes me smile. Worth the $25. :-) |

6 - Nice portrait of Marco. Be nice to see his other eye too, but as is is still good - however, I do think he'd look less incarcerated if he could lose that chain and nose/snout restraint/guard thing (whatever that is). The tones are nice, as is the composition and background. |
