This image just shoots out of the screen! Love the lighting. Great job with this close up as well.

I guessed this might be yours. Your use of light in portraiture is truly the work of an artist.

Great portrait. The low key works really well with your subject.

Very nicely done. The photographer has captured emotion in the eyes.

I like the Low Key and the Portrait. Don't think the background is sharp enough for Deep DoF, but I like the try.

I think you're wrong about the first technique, but this is a fine portrait, and very engaging. 8

The left area is SHALLOW DOF (details are blured) not DEEP DOF.

The blurred background looks like shallow depth of field to me. Calling it rule of thirds instead would have worked for me, as that is where his eyes are. Other than that, this is a great portrait. I hope to eventually get this good with lighting.

ok, now I'm confused...I would call this Shallow DOF...not Deep DOF...I guess I am missing something...but I definitely like the picture overall...great example of Low Key IMO

Fabulous lighting, not sure about the deep DoF, though.

not sure it exactly meets the challenge but i like it anyway so i'm giving it a 6. the deep dof thing is the tuffy and i'd like to see more of his left eye. his skin tone is amazing, tho

GOD THAT IS FANTASTIC!!! The catch lights and the subtle lighting to the left. This is awesome. Love your use of negative space and the crop. That bit of "red" under the right eye might be my monitor so I'm not going to take off for it. Wow - this is great.
