oh yes, this is a very good shot, i like the bokeh... with colors more saturated maybe the position on the challenge would be better.

I still love this shot, and am envious. I think Waddy might be right about the muted colors reducing the impact, even though Mary liked the low saturation. I think that although the dark part in the feathers below his beak gives him a very stern expression, it overpowers his real mouth, which I'd like to see featured a bit more. I like the way you finished the image with the border. Congrats for the good score and high placement in this crowded challenge.

Grand detail, focus and bokeh in this. Color is a little muted, which probably got it dinged in voting. Congrats on a good opportunity to get close to the eagle like this.

By this fellows pose - it almost looks like this shot is elongated in the vertical direction - a cool shot with good focus on the eyes
