Quite an interesting and different light setup for a kid (not one I've often seen). Something like this is probably considered a no-no by people better than me, as it makes the kid look kind of menacing. What do I know, I like it. What with the decision to light one side and edge light the other, and the look on his face, this otherwise straightforward portrait takes on a different, darker meaning. Nicely put together. Other than that, and it's pleasing composition, I'm not fond of what was done in post to make it look so artificially smooth, or perhaps sharpened+denoised, or something. 7
