Challenge: Three Techniques (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-40D
Lens: Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
Location: Disharoon Valley Cabin, Big Canoe, Georgia, USA
Date: Oct 19, 2009
Aperture: f 9

Shutter: 2 seconds
Galleries: Interior, Vintage
Date Uploaded: Oct 19, 2009

Taken in the same cabin as this image . That image was my highest scoring ever, so I though I would try a variation. My wife gets credit for the idea. She and I were there photographing this chair one time and she found this angle that brought the shuttered window into the background that adds that extra dimension.

Taken late afternoon, the sun was setting to the West and this is an East facing door. Very little processing other than making the white balance a little warmer and adjusting the curves a little and increasing saturation on red and orange a small bit.

Exposed 2 f-stops below "normal" to maintain the tone of the image.

Use of existing light and long expsure was perfect for this shot. Great composition.

love the feel of this photo, excellent use of the 3 techniques. It's sad that I can't vote otherwise I'll give this one a 10. (Well now I can vote, now your 10)

I don't see long exposure here but the image overall is well executed!

It doesn't feel super low key to me but thats only my opinion. Like the subject matter and your presentation. 8

I don't know why...but I really like Low Key shots to be in B&W...why is that...and THIS would make an excellent B&W...still that being said...I really like this alot

Looks closer to center composition, but I think this is a great shot. I think the use of the open door as a light is just a great touch to it. Sometimes simple is so much better.

An interesting subject. Maybe some motion on the chair would highlight the long exposure (sort of ghost-rocking, if you see what I mean).
