Location: south lake tahoe, california
Date: Oct 16, 2009
Aperture: 8.0

Shutter: 1/500
Galleries: Nature, Diptych / Triptych
Date Uploaded: Oct 16, 2009

still attempting to stretch my macro "filter" as far as it can go and testing its limits.

center image: f 8.0, ISO 200, 1/500 sec
both of the outside images: f 3.5, ISO 200, 1/2000 sec

the images were combined in the gimp the only way i know how... hopefully in a way that is acceptable for the basic rules in this instance. aside from that there were only a few minor levels tweaks and some cropping and resizing to suit the format.

I like the idea...but the quality is a bit low..seems a bit blurry...and the lighting doesn't match in all three, and mayabea boost with contrast. Nice colors...

Leigh, nice one, I instantly recognised this as your entry based on your previous bug photo.
This is a whole lot better imo. Well done. L & R frames need something more I think for a Triptych.

Was a 6 from me. I used to take 'faux macros' with my 50mm 1.8... but just wait until you get a real macro lens, you're gonna have so much fun!

Nice concept and colors. Pane on left is too dark. Both left and right panes are too OOF.

The depth of field is so shallow in most of these images that they have no impact. If all three were bees, or other insects, this might have worked, but as it is I feel that it misses the mark....not visually compelling.
