i think you did a very nice job with the low key lighting of this rose. I am not a fan of the choice of crop and composition. Centering the rose gives this a static feel and the long horizontal makes the image look squished. Adding more negative space above and below the image would help this. Also, placing the rose off center (following more the rule of thirds) might give this one a bit more impact.

I like this image, might have used a square crop and still had plenty of black bg.

Meets Challenge: 3 of 3.
Technical: 2 of 3. Something about those leaves in the background distract me, and I'd prefer it was a closer crop so I can see more detail.
Emotion: 2 of 3. I'm reminded of high school when the girls would hang roses upside down to save them, and of my wedding where my wife had her bouquet preserved. Those were good times, so thanks for reminding me of them.

The exposure is beautiful! The placement within the fram not so much. It needs to be more to one side.
