| While I realize that the red is part of his shell, I do think it's a bit distracting. With the tight crop, I think it would be ok if you cropped that out too. I don't think it would damage the photo in any way. I like the tight crop, I think that it enhances the "macro effect". your focus and clarity are great, and the lighting is good. A little more light wouldn't have hurt, but I think it's ok the way it is. What a cutie! |

The pic is a macro of a turtle poking his head out of his body... I was dissapointed in my score as I thought I did a great job of getting in really close and maintaining a good focus.... the orange thing in front is the edge of his shell... I left it in the crop because I thought it would give some depth to the pic and show how he was backed up inside his shell... oh well live and learn.. thanks for the critiques and comments everyone

| What's the red stuff in the foreground? It's a little shy, don't you think? Very good focus, but a tad too much glare on the snout. 8 Swash |

| I've looked and looked at this and still can't figure it out. Thought for a minute it was some kind of a fish with an eye half way up the left side. But then what is the red at the bottom? Sorry, I just can't figure it out. Might score higher than a 4 if I knew what it was. PTL I see the turtle now but can't raise the score. Sorry |

| Very tight shot, but I had a hard time 'seeing' the turtle without some sort of point of reference. Maybe this shot is to close for the viewer to appreciate the color and texture of him. |

| Ok here it goes, the nose is to bright and the thing on the bottom of the photo is distracting, but you you did a good job of getting close so I give you a 5. Sonifo |
