 My cousin Anna. Two 500W light sources. First, used to light the blue cardboard background. Second, used to light her.


Post-Processing:
NeatImage; Channel specific contrast enhancement; Crop; Resample; Unsharpen.

PS: The softening was achieved by going as far back as possible and zooming in + keeping the aperture open. I basically minimized the depth of field and kept the model as far from the background as possible. This way, any detail on the blue cardboard is blurred to nothingness.

I think this photo surely conveys the theme "waiting" and I would have wanted to see it in the top three.

Great composition and colour, and a pretty model.. When I saw the challenge subject I thought someone would do a tacky 'waiting for an idea'... This is certainly not tacky, well done.

So simple yet so effective. Your gradation from black close to the model's head to ligher blue of the left edge is an absolute masterpiece of execution. The lighting on your (beautiful) model's face is exceptional. And she really does have the expression of "waiting for inspiration." Composition - perfect for text on the left side - and also visually appealing. Q. What don't I like? A. It's not mine.

The image doesn't clearly convey "waiting." It does say, "Thinking (or worried) about...". Blue, black, and facial elements are well done.
