Didn't have an entry. I almost didn't enter because I had no ideas and didn't have any time and figured there would be wonderful shots, silhouettes at sunset, cute kids with stuffed animals, cute kids hugging furry cute animals, etc. But it bothered me not having an entry, so I figured I'd might as well do an average one and have one in than to sit with one challenge entered (the missed focus one, blech). So I tried the one idea I had.
I'm hoping that the sad hug might be a little different... I brought only one lens, thinking that we would be out on the pitcher's mound, but there was practice going on, so we were stuck with the dugout. It was almost impossible to get far enough away with the 100mm macro lens I was using (love this lens!).
I'm guessing 5.6, maybe 5.7. I really like the shot, but then again, it's my husband and my son, so I'm a little biased!
enjoy!

Ok, I started out with a 10, a comment, and a fav all from timfythetoo. I think that's about as an exciting of a start one could possibly have! It's at 7.3333 with 9 votes, at the moment. And I need to get to sleep. I don't really want to go to bed, because I know I'll wake up below 7 tomorrow, and this is just too much fun. Ah well, tomorrow is another day...

dropped down to 6.54--happy score, but I think my dreams of high 6s or possible 7 have gone out the window. Which is probably good that it happens sooner than later! Enough posting now--I'll shut up until the end of the challenge :D |

I like it very much, this one stand out from the other entries as you said most people would go to a cute child hugging a doll or something like that and it's very well done specially shooting in the sunset time. |

I thought this was soooo cute! I wish I would see scenes like this more often. Where I live, I really don't see many parents consoling their children after a loss or a bad play. I see them badmouthing the umps or even berating the kids. The world needs more of this :) Congrats on 6th place! |

Nice finish Wendy. I thought this was your image. It reminded me of your entry in the "enemies" challenge. You score well shooting at the ball game. |

This was my top pick of the challenge and scored it a 10. After reading the photographer's comments I still like the photo, but knowing it was staged takes just a tad off of it for me. Kudos to you for pulling off the setup emotion however as that's not always easy to do - I bought into it 110%.
Congrats on your Top 10 finish! |

Somehow I thought this was yours. Maybe because of the baseball theme, or maybe I just recognized your son and husband. I don't know how you keep doing all these killer entries. |

Wow, the shadow behind 'Dad' looks like somebody holding a knife in the air. Ok, don't look at that and nevermind. It's not really my kind of photo: it looks far to serious and touching for my likes. The 'photo' however is very, very good. That's what I'm voting on: 8 |

Aw man - this one is choking me up. If it is posed - brilliant. If it is not - brilliant. |
