The Brahma Kamal (Saussurea obvallata), the flower of the Himalayas.
This photo is taken when we had a bloom on the plant at home in Michigan.

Thanks I did not try Curves/Levels I will do that today to check the difference.

out of the three this is the shot I would go for. As an image in itself I like it but it is physically too dark (leading to too much noise). You need the same shot, same lighting but a longer exposure then probably use curves to bring (what would be) the too bright picture down to the darkness you have here.

Nikon Capture NX is what I use, the interface sucks but the image processing it offers is really rather good.

i love the angle as well as the position of the light. the tone makes the flower seem even lighter/ more delicate. i agree it could be sharpened a little more agressively
