 for the september macro side challenge

i noticed this beetle on the firetrail yesterday when i was walking the dogs .. i thought it was a wood beetle but after doing a bit'v research i think its a weevil .. life unseen ..
as soon as i got down to his level he flipped himself over so he lay on his back .. it was quite annoying .. i didnt want to take a pic of an insect that looked dead ..
so i picked him up and put him on his legs again .. but he kept flipping himself over onto his back .. was able to put him on a piece of wood where i got the shot of him facing the camera .. he only let me get a couple of shots before he flipped himself over and fell off .. !!..
anyway .. it must be their behaviour when they feel threatened to look like they're dead ..:)

cute says you! eep. gnasty and gnarly little bugger. but these are fine macros and a neat little story. maybe he's part possum!

Not a bad strategy. Probably they don't usually encounter anything as determined as a photographer. He looks like something put together by an engineer. I love your poster style presentation.
