I don't think this is going to go over well with the voters. Wanted to do something other than landscape. It was fun to do. Max Quigley helped once again and again Last minute entry!

The more I look at this I wish I had more time to tweak the processing.

So the score is a pleasant surprise at this point. 6.6ish

Lighting:
4 lights:

1 Strobe with silver umbrella on the camera right to light up Matt(red jacket)

1 bare strobe on the camera left to light up Phil

1 Speedlight in the background at full power for the "Star"

1 Speedlight at 1/4 power to light up the basket in the background.

All powered by my trusty AB Cybersyncs.

This off camera lighting is addictive!!!

This came out really good Leo! I came back to check out your lighting notes as I just shot a 'strobist' style shot and have another one coming up. Thanks for the details!

Your score might hurt for not using all the 720px, which would have given more details to the image. Nice pp.

Good demo of the HDR potential. The outcome has a unique and dramatic style. Not sure I totally like the result, but I like the obvious effort put into the process. 8

Came back for comments:

Some may mark this down due to halos but I think it is exactly what HDR is all about. 10

This is too overprocessed for my taste. The colors are really great, so as the light, but the details are not the big thing on this shot in my opinion. Good luck for you and sorry if i was rude. If you feel unconfortable with this comment, please sent me a pm and i'll read your opinion.

A good application of a style I've seen used in sports pics before. Very dramatic looking.

A very good stylized use of the technique. I could see a whole set of "cards" done this way for a team, for instance. Interesting light, too.

1 - Not HDR in my opinion

3 - HDR is way over-done, in my opinion

5 - A reasonable use of HDR, but not a very engaging photo, in my opinion

7 - A reasonable use of HDR, and an engaging photo, in my opinion

10 - A fantastic use of HDR, and an out of this world photo, in my opinion

I really like this. It's a little different take on HDR since HDR's are typically landscapes, but it works beautifully here!
