My favorite shot of the challenge. How did this place so low?

Good capture, unfortunately the colors are washed.

Great composition. A lot of negative white space. Good detail on the tree and bird.

Not impacting me much, and I don't know why. This has a look of a Japanese painting that ought to sit well with me. If I can nail down something more specific, I will update this comment.

I shall be rating this challenge by the following criteria:

1 - Not HDR in my opinion

3 - HDR is way over-done, in my opinion

5 - A reasonable use of HDR, but not a very engaging photo, in my opinion

7 - A reasonable use of HDR, and an engaging photo, in my opinion

10 - A fantastic use of HDR, and an out of this world photo, in my opinion

Your photo receives:

5 - This was almost a 1, but the tree does show signs of having more range than usual. The completely over-exposed background, however, does the photo no justice.

i love the photo, but it seems more what i think of being 'high key' and, in my mind, not the same thing as hdr. rather than give a low score, i think i will abstain. just want you to know that i think it's really cool

Not really convinced it's HDR with an open mouth. Not sure it's a great subject for HDR either since the background is virtually white.
