 I don't know why - but when ever I meet wasps, they always seem to be named Fred - so meet Fred. He was very shy and was very hard to get a good photo of. He was enjoying drinking water from the leaves and enjoying the sunshine after a morning of rain.

Fred is not shy, Fred is a Killer. My hat off to you for not only a brilliant capture positioned to the maximum but also for your bravery in the face of a creature that STINGS.

Beautiful critter. Much prettier than the one that stung me on the back yesterday. I was going to take his photo, but by the time I was done with him he was pretty flat and in multiple pieces. That'll learn him...

fred is very nice.... I hope... (I'm not crazy about wasps, but I try to get over it so I can photograph them!) For some reason the shallow depth of field works with fred. How come it doesn't work as well with my bugs :D
