Well, I wrecked this photo. I agree with the voters and commenters. But I'm glad I made this effort. I learned a lot and had fun. Next time my HDR will be better.

Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties...

Well and truly overprocessed, but you already know that. Putting that aside, I think this image had some great potential for HDR (especially those clouds), though, I think you've cropped a little too tight on the right.

It is overprocessed but to me, it's the dark sky that really takes away from the picture.

Nice landscape and skys. I wanted to see the tree more "participating" in the image, without having been chopped out a bit.

Great t-storm. Saturation seems to be overdone, without benefit to the caliber of the image.

Looks like the tone mapping is pushed a little too much - personal taste possibly.

seems overdone to me. still an excellent scene though, looks like a cover of an indie band cd. maybe:)

I like the bold colors, but overall this is coming across to me as overprocessed and somewhat garish. Sorry.

I think the less is more approach works a bit better with the HDR tools. I like the composition of this image, but the processing really is a bit over the top.

I shall be rating this challenge by the following criteria:

1 - Not HDR in my opinion

3 - HDR is way over-done, in my opinion

5 - A reasonable use of HDR, but not a very engaging photo, in my opinion

7 - A reasonable use of HDR, and an engaging photo, in my opinion

10 - A fantastic use of HDR, and an out of this world photo, in my opinion

Your photo receives:

3 - Not for just over-done HDR, but for over-done processing period.
(sorry, I meant 3 on this one. heh)

fantastic picture but overall the sky is too overstated though I guess thats a product of being HDR. Difficult to look away from those broiling clouds at the the rather interesting ground.

It's too soft. Perhaps you can post the original when this is done for comparison.

Not a bad composition at all, the tonal blending here seems uneven a little, especially in the tree area.5
