 A snapping turtle. A big one can take your hand off. This is a little one, about a foot long.
Micro Nikkor 105 f2.8, on cam flash. Hand held.
Maybe it's just me, but if I stare at the dark part of the eye for a few seconds, the whole image seems to be moving around in the frame.
