ooh i wondered how this would turn out,
probably could have been focused a little more at the top and bottom
but still nice. The lighting gives the marshmellows a funny ominous look, wicked. |

Where's the campfire? Good repeating pattern - pastel colors make it work nicely. Focus falls off in the forground and far background - so it does show your entire "in focus" area. I'm curious as to your lens and aperture selection. |

nice idea! (did you eat them all afterwards?)
I like the graduate use of light, the back is much more dark than the front, adding even more depth in this picture. Too bad that not all marshmellows are in focus though... |

To my eye, your lighting lets you down here, both in the progression of brightness from foreground to background, and in those shadpws. I personally would at least have started by backlighting the set-up, and working from there to fill in shadows, but this seems like a single flash lightsource, or at any rate too close to the camera's perspective. The depth of field also isn't really that great - it may actually be so, but the inclusion of areas beyond what I'd call acceptable sharpness actually only serves to emphasise the limits of focus, rather than the depth of it. 4 |
