 Taken in the backyard. Made the pasta and put peanut butter in it. I know people have commented on the black backgounds in my photos, but it's a little bit wooded, and the heavy leaf coverage makes it black. Wait until fall and winter, then you'll see something in the background!

The biggest problem that I see is the spaghetti looks pretty sick after staying out for so long. I think I'll get hit for unappetizing pasta! That and the fact that it's a tad blown.

processing: brought the exposure down in RAW to try and get the squirrel ok, but the pasta not so blown. Topaz photo pop for squirrel, railing and pasta. Tried playing with the saturation on the pasta to make it less unappealing--didn't work well :D Levels a little bit, and a tad more sharpening on squirrel and pasta.

This is the other shot that was in contention. More people in my friends and family brigade liked this shot, but I thought my submission choice told more of a story.

You asked for your shot in this challenge to have a comment from one of the members in the Critique Club.

This is an excellent shot, you are so lucky to have all this wildlife in your life!!

There is not a whole lot that I can see that you could do to make this a better shot. The black back ground is very dominant but as you stated that is the foliage. The pasta looks ok, I think it is the peanut butter that is turning it brownish, just say it is wheat pasta!!!

Overall, you are sharp, clean, clarity is excellent, colours are spot on. Just the background that is hurting you!

Heh!! I wonder if pasta is good for squirrels.... you certainly have a good time entertaining your back yard visitors. I'm pretty sure they love all the attention (and peanut-butter covered pasta, too!)

Hah, ha! Ha! I absolutely LOVE it! How comical, and squirrels are so much fun. Wonderfully done, great lighting and composition. Black background is perfect. No doubt about it - 10!
