Actresses are the beautiful and amazing Dulce Juarez (foreground/far right), Rosa Millan (background/middle) and Perla Farias (background/far left). This is from the final scene of the play -- the funeral for a youngest of three children who was killed during an immigration raid.
I had an AMAZING shot of this same scene from the dress rehearsal the previous week, but of course that was before this challenge opened. I shot several more series of this scene from the back of the house, and this was my favorite, but it still pales to my dress rehearsal shot. Ohhhhhh, to have a time-machine. Err, whatever.
Expected feedback? Awkward crop -- needs more breathing room on the right -- yes, I agree, but there was a distracting set piece I wanted to crop out; with advanced editing I could probably have gotten away with removing it, but never in basic. This will probably look "too dark" on uncalibrated monitors. Oh, well.
I hope people will notice the tear running down Dulce's face. I also hope people notice the actual written eulogy prop in Dulce's hands. Other shots showed the paper more clearly, but I like the facial expression and the lighting of the tear on this shot -- it was very hard to decide which to submit.

Overall: Oh the drama...and it is indeed a scene from a play being depicted. I took Drama classes for several years and have performed on stage so I do feel the pain here but wish the emotion had more depth and less emoting, if you get my drift.
Technical: Fairly good shot, you didn't have to worry about giving direction or lighting the shot, the director took care of that. Composition adequate; it was more the stage blocking in your favour. The fact that you had access during dress rehearsal meant that you had what many would see as an unfair advantage, as you knew already what to expect.
Artistic: This is the tough part for me, for this is not of your own making, but a capture of someone else's work, so very borderline. Having said that, you did capture a poignant scene very well.
FWIW: Respectable finish, wish it were of your own making than a capture of someone else's work. Quite a lot of pp'ing too, was all of it so necessary?
