This is St. Regis Pond in the more remote regions of the northern Adirondacks... a 2 mile canoe ride + .6 mile portage from the nearest road. Beautiful back country camping. This was the view I was treated to for my 3-day stay.

And it does fit the Rule of 3rds people, c'mon. Draw 3 vertical lines on the image and tell me how the major compositional elements align. The Rule of Thirds does NOT state the subject must lie on an intersection of the lines...

Makes me wish I had time to travel away from this city; this is nice but the natural bordering might be too much for this scene.

very pretty with a calming feel. nice job with this one. it is a little difficult though for me to see how the challenge topic works here. i'm assuming that the center of the opening of the trees where the reflection of the hills meet is your focal point.

beautiful shot, but i cant see the rule of thirds? more like frame your subject or reinforcements as the basis of composition here.
