 The Image: This is oil floating on the top of Beef Stock. I used the macro on the tripod and used a desk lamp with a flouro daylight bulb. Depth of field was a bit difficult to get right, but this is the shot that worked OK in the end.

The Edit: Various colour balance adjustment layers and masks, USM, Noise Ninja, cloned out several little specks, some sharpening, some levels and curves, some contrast adjustments. I duplicated the image and set the layer to multiply pulling back on the opacity, then upped the saturation...not in that order...I work intuitively.

Nice shot and would've scored higher than a 6 if it wasn't for the spots in the circles. It distracts my eye for some reason.
