Converting this image from a fully coloured version to this one was a tough decision. I loved this image instantly but wasn't sure whether it was smart to do away with a brighter, lighter and colourful one.

Shadow/highlight,
Topaz adjust-{mild details}
decreased saturation
added sepia filter
pulled down the curves
increased saturation on hue/sat
increased contrast
sharpened like crazy
resized

This is an exquisite find and did well.

The others, while beautiful, are more prosaic and probably would have scored in the upper middle of the pack.

It is perfect! I think the slightly desaturated look adds to the artistry. I love it so much. Congratulations on 5th place!

the angle of the horse makes it look nearly fake, weird. showing more of the horse would have been better. good background and idea for the composition though.

Beautiful environment but I think clouds look a little pixelated.

Maybe the horse should have been more to the right, so we could see more of the mountain.

The light that's missing in the face of the horse turns your clouds all white. still pretty,

Very nice shot. Those mountain colors blend nicely together and the shades of color in the water just adds to them. The blanket is a nice color touch without the deco on the horses head.

Very cool shot, and a beautiful location. While it might have been better to emphasize the horse as the subject with a closer crop like you have done, I would also love to see the rest of those mountains.

The framing, composition and details are all good. The horse's "clothing", baggage and position doesn't match the title you've given it.
