 for the august snapshots side challenge

when katee's away the bird will play .. !!
charlie had been under my computer desk, so i got the camera and called him to my finger .. he's only been coming to my finger for a very short time ..
he's looking a bit raggedy coz he's molting .. when he loses a feather another one grows in it's place in a shaft which is called a pin feather .. the bird picks at the shaft to release the feather inside .. its quite messy .. !!!

& he does my laugh which is pretty embarrassing .. !!
i'm starting to worry that he might be a bit conceited .. lol ..
copies a few whistles that we do for him too ..
our previous budgie had a huge vocabulary .. i wrote all the words and phrases he said and it covered an A4 piece of paper .. !!

and for scott scooter97 .. the shots i put in our side challenge were the first one's i've taken of him flying to my finger .. had to use the flash coz it was nearly nighttime and lit only by our room lights .. i was concerned it might put him off, but he was totally ok .. but he's pretty used to the flash anyway seeing i started blinding him with it from the first day we had him .!!. didnt bother him then either .. :)

Wow! Fantastic captures. Ha, so Charlie is throwing in a string of pretties - just like our Bowie used to. Funny that out of the whole stream of words, that one seems to appeal to them so much.

It's wonderful that your new bird likes you so much. If you work at it a bit he may learn to talk. I had one that had a vocabulary of about 40 words.
His little nose is looking much better now. I love the little chirps and burbles that they make when they are happy.

This is a great photo... composition and detail is DPC challenge quality... but then... it is a roz photo whose standard for challenge photo are probably higher than mine...

I wish that I could take challenge photos as good as your "snapshots" :)
