Thank you everyone.
While it is not apparent from the picture, my subject couldn't walk. His legs don't support him and he was dragging himself on the road. I didn't have the heart to ask him to pose or change his position. I just shot as best as I could. |

I enjoyed exploring the area around him...well.. not "enjoyed" that's probably the wrong word, i meant to say that looking around him puts his situation in context, it tells a story of who this guy is and what kind of life he is living. This is very raw and i absolutely love it.
Its a sad world. Faved. |

First impressions
Something a bit different for a DPC entry, good title for the challenge.
After a bit
This is a lovely environmental portrait, I disagree that you should have got closer, we need to see the man and his world for us to engage properly with him. It is a shame that a few of his toes missed being caught in the shot, and the (unavoidably) harsh light means we've lost some of his face to shadow, but this isn't a studio portrait - what you saw is what we got and I like it.
Overall
A bold shot for this challenge, I like the composition and I'm glad to see it scored reasonably well.
Well done :) |

Harsh living conditions.. I would have gone for a close up.. with the subject to the right.. looking towards the left... As it is now, the photo looks loopsided. |

this is really stark for me. I like how you have taken the topic and related it so strongly to real life. no bubbles or flowers just reality. 9 |
