 done for the august snapshots side challenge

yesterday we went for a walk on the firetrail and this fairly small wombat ran out in front of us .. it ran into this tree stump/hole and sort'v burrowed in so we could only see its rump .. it looked like an unfinished burrow ..
this is GregoryB taking a photograph, katee looking in and view of the wombat hiding ..
i combined the three shots so it was like a story and you wouldnt have to open three separate photographs ..
i was carrying the 5D with 100mm lens with extension tube so i couldnt focus any further away than about 2ft .. i had my 40D in a backpack so i got it out and took these shots .. would'v been great if i'd had the 40D out and i might'v got a shot of the wombat running into the hole .. :)

after kelli's comment i'll stick link to wombats in wikipedia ..
silly me, i thought everyone knew wot a wombat was .. lol lol .. !!

I love this triptych. What a great way to tell a story. I have no idea what a wombat is either but it looks cute!

Hmmmm. Thanks for the info on wombats. I've always wondered about them, but was too lazy to look them up.

Going after them must be sort of like Alice down the Rabbit Hole.

I wouldn't know a wombat if it sat in my lap & called me mama, yet I can see from your picto-narrative that is is an unusual find, of interest. Katee seems quite intent. The word 'wombat' seems so quixotic.

You just never know what you will see when you are out in a natural setting. I think it's exciting when you get to see something that you didn't expect. Great story and pics.
