 An idea shot at the eleventh hour, suggested by my favourite shooting buddy, Ryan Magnumphotography. Silver skull set inside my brand-new Closet of Doom, atop an old coat. Sparklers set inside eye sockets and camera on tripod.

I believe death is too greatly feared in our society. Death is a reality for us all and may come swiftly or slowly. Often, however, death provides life for others. A forest fire may take lives in the process, but in the aftermath life erupts from ground once blanketed by fire. So why not channel that spark of fear, that spark of death inside us all, and turn it into a spark of creation?

pp: RAW-TIFF, crop, curves, contrast, resize, usm, sharpen edges.

Greetings from the Critique Club -

I wish I had yoru description available when voting on this image. It didnt grab me during vote - I was one of your 5s. I like how the sparks reflect off the teeth - but the concept in general didnt connect with me.

However - after reading your description I found a new appreciation for the image - a better understanding of what you were shooting for. It completes out the image much better for me now.

I know this doesnt affect your score nor does it offer any photographical commentary (not sur eif photographical is a word). But I am glad I pulled this image from the queue. I dont go back often enough to look at image safter challenge.
