 Just trying to see what my 100-400L lens could do. This bird was in the top of a 40' tree. Once I opened it in photoshop, I realized that it was nothing in color, but could be very interesting as a silhouette in b&w. Overexposed it in RAW. Desaturated it. Played with topaz adjust on the leaves.

Very worried about how this will go over. Since I've been letting down Lutchenko in formula dpc, I don't want to put in another clunker... But my other shots seem so dull and normal compared to this... We'll see if it gets changed in the next hour.

Man, I wish when I finished in the bottom third it was with a score of 5.7+!! No, I have to settle for 5.1s and stuff. Wah! (By the way, this is very way cool.)

The more creative you are, the more likely someone will dislike your entry. It is a rare person who can be exceptionally creative and have broad appeal as well. We all aspire to it. This did well and came in above mine.

I would like it so much more if the bird would be on the left and look into the negative space! Great tones.

As I said already, I think this was the more creative choice, and I like it. Nice use of negative space. There are some dark pixelated areas showing in the upper corners, but it is probably not visible on many monitors. (No vote, comment only)

I like the crop. It makes me feel frustrated that I can't see more of the bush and that it is a little off center. Besides, I'm a sucker for its high-contrast, minimalist nature.
