Great facial expression and the smoke really adds to it. Perfect in Black and White. |

flipping through the shots so far this is the one that grabbed my attention first. (I love Art Roflmao's comment). |

I really like your shot here. I don't think it is your best one that you took for the D-Day collection though with the smoke it does have a real 30/40's feel. I would have tried for a darker background but with the smoke that might be slightly hard. |

great capture Steve. I'm still looking for a sheep or rhino in the background though |

First impression:
B&W is perfect for this photo considering the re-enactment and the smoke creates a leading line to the mans face. Nicely done.
Suggested improvement:
I think maybe a more landscape crop could work better here. It would give some space and add a sense of distance to where the man is looking. (if that makes any sense) |

Interesting subject, spot on composition and a nicely detailed image. For me, I think I'd perhaps like a 'touch' more contrast but that's just a matter of taste.
Might you be able to add the lens information too? I've been really looking forward to comparing different lenses and how people use them for portrait work. Many thanks. |

great composition, and an interesting way to use the smoke to enhance the photos meaning. Good jobs! Can't wait to see more of your work in the coming month! |

Guy looks very old school, whether WWII or Russian (as suggested by others) or something else I don't know. Like how the smoke fades/blurs away into the distance. |

That old classic "smoke gets in your eyes" immediately came into my head. Nice conversion. |
