Challenge: The Username Challenge III (Advanced Editing VII)
Collection: Challenges
Camera: Canon EOS-5D
Lens: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS
Date: Jul 20, 2009
Galleries: Black and White, Children
Date Uploaded: Jul 23, 2009

I had a session with a darling little three year old this week. I really loved the silouette images of her sitting with her doll at the window seat. This particualer one, being one of my favorites. I love the slight tilt of her head and the expression on her face. She looks like she is really trying to listen to what her baby doll is saying. I typed in all kinds of search words for usernames and was very pleased to find thesecretsharer who registered way back in 2004, but has yet to participate.

Post Challenge: I just noticed that my date stamp is off by one whole day. I had this scheduled session on Monday the 20th, but it was recorded for the 19th. CRAP....that sucks!!!!

The store had set the time/date and it was exactly 12 hours off. As it happened, I shot the winning picture at dawn on Monday, so naturally the stamp showed it to be at sunset on Sunday, before the challenge was announced :-(

At least you have the Posthumous for this one (he doesn't care about the date stamp), and you didn't lose a ribbon, so I guess that helps?

Still a wonderful shot!

Thanks Bear....I appreciate the kind words.

So many great details: the motion blur of her finger, the little glasses, the position of her feet. It's a very sweet photo. Sorry to hear about the mess-up with the date stamp. :-/

I have another ribbon-winner but I can't resist this photo, so I'm going to give out 2 yellows. My Posthumous Yellow Ribbon for you.

Jennifer, this is so amazing. It has that Jennifer Short Magic in every way. It makes my heart feel all mushy just looking at it -- which I have enjoyed doing for what seems like forever!

This is a wonderful shot, I had little hope it would appeal enough to ribbon when I saw it, and I'm glad it finished as well as it did.

Fantastic - sorry you didn't ribbon but still a nice finish. Congrats!

Great idea, this is just too good. Black & white was the right choice. One of the best.
