Hello from the Crtique Club
First Impression: An interesting group of young people waisting away a summer day walking the tracks. I like the open ended story. It let's my mind wander.
Composition: As is, good. I think it may have been made stronger by extending the top right of the frame to get a vanishing point from the tracks. I believe that would add more to the story that you have begun. I see that you are shooting with the 5DmkII, so I presume that this was with the 24-105L. 24-30mm would have captured more track. However, it is quite possible that there are buildings, etc, beyond the trees, and a wider perspective would have ruined the scene.
DOF/Exposure: It appears you were shooting in low light or shade given the ISO. With that shutter speed I believe you could have extended the depth of field to bring in more of the 3 child. However, this may not have been your intent, but he seems stuck somewhere in between the foreground and background. Overall the image seems to have strong contrast on the kids. Maybe a bit brighter.
Overall, I like this photograph, there is a great story here, and I love the open ended quality.
Good luck with your next entry!
Cheers,
Ben
