 Took this shot at the...something county fair in Missouri. I don't even remember where we were (I was there to watch my cousin enter in the truck pull. Never been to a truck pull. It was kinda fun). Anyway this little girl was watching the rodeo events from the fence when I happened to notice her boots. The boots soon made sense though because she was riding a young bull a little later.

I wasn't planning on entering this challenge but when I came across the picture I started playing with it and decided what the hell. I don't have large hopes for this one, although I really like how the picture came out.

I hope I get some comments on the color. It's my first attempt at anything "sepia" like and I don't really know what I'm doing.

Greetings from Andi via the Critique Club.

First Impression: Although the spurs and title tell me whats going on I still find the background a little distracting. I like the duo/sepia tone

Composition: The bars she is standing seem to become the main focus here and wonder how this might have looked with most of below the bars cropped out with a little more leg? That said I'm so glad she wasn't centred as the more I view this the better the composition looks.

Subject: Yup, its footwear so meets the challenge although footwear would spring to mind as the main subject if I didn't know the challenge title. The worn jeans look great, as if she has grown up in them.

Technical: I did mention I thought the background was a little busy but not sure you could have blurred it more with your lens of choice. Personally I'm growing fonder of 'blown out' areas in images.

Final thoughts: A good spot and nice detail shot of the event, you don't need to see the bulls to understand whats going on.

I like the composition here - but on my monitor it is somewhat flat - perhaps a little more contrast ?

Good choice of color and nice catch..the boots just look a little hidden in my opinion, but that is not very significant. Good luck!
