 The ImageI had pretty much resolved to no longer do these type of setup shots. I prefer people - and certain people in particular. But with the entry count so low and the fact that I actually had a can of Spam in the house made me want to do this. My desire was to create an image that looks like a hotpasta creation. He has way cooler plates and pans and stuff so I don't think I quite hit it. Shallow DOF helps though. Lit with a 430 though a shoot through camera left and ambient light as the fill.

The Recipe - Pan fried Spam slices with a salad of quartered cherry tomatoes, sliced red onion, chiffonade of basil and some lemon zest tossed with olive oil. Served with toasted baguette and a glass of chardonnay (at least I think it is chardonnay - we just use it to cook with and it's been in the fridge for months.)

The Edit - Stupid basic - Lightroom conversion, sharpening and some selective color tweaks, crop, resize, USM and border.

The Prediction Who knows. I will guess a 6.3. If it had one of my kids in the shot I would guess a bit lower, but this one probably wont be guessed as mine which should help me.

Oh, and the kids like Spam.

Was up in the 6.9s early on - been a steady drop since then into the low 6.7s. Watch me get another honorable mention. I think I am still behind achoo in those.

Has anyone else mentioned they used to feed spam to canibals to ween them off humans?

Very nice food presentation. The only thing that bothers me is the angle of the fork seems wrong - it's leading me out of the picture rather than into it. 8

This photo make spam is actually edible, in fact it looks good. I really like the tilt of the composition. IMHO, I would not of cropped in so tightly. I would have preferred to see the rest of the glass and the fork.

Wow! That almost looks good. Nice use of DOF, although I think the glass distracts from the shot (especially being almost diagonal). Might be a bit hot on the center tomato, but that is being pretty picky - it really doesn't distract from the overall shot.

Good shot, but its really hard to make spam look attractive :) I think you have done the best so far cause it kinda looks like a BK Hashbrown...lol...Anyway, very nice presentation
