Walking along the beach on Friday morning while down at Cal Poly SLO for my niece's graduation, happened upon this jelly fish. Bent to one knee, steadied the camera and held it low to the ground, and clicked off a few shots without even looking through the viewfinder -- chimped the image for composition, clicked a few more, and viola!
Hope you like it.

Yep, its centered alright, but thing is I liked this comp better than the more traditional rule of thirds shots. Something about the texture on the sand, the slight reflection of the jelly, and the framing from the pier and breaking waves just made this one pop for me a lot more than the others. |

I'm with you on the centered comp on this one - I think it works well here. Neat shot! |

Interesting shot. From the title I'm assuming its a jellyfish? Your perspective is interesting in that the subject looks huge. I like it for the POV. I think cropping out a little bit of the right side a may have helped; lots of dead space that doesn't add to the pic. |

I was looking at that thinking, "is it a rock, is it some sort of weird alien object, why is it triangular..." and then I read the title and figured it all out.
It's a very centered composition, and while the pier off to the left and the people way in the distance help it slightly, I still feel it looks a bit "snapshottish". |
