Hello, found this in the Critique Club section:
Upon first glance, I get thrown off by the repulsive look of the fish heads. It's a good thing though, it means it has very good impact! I had to immediately read your details to find out more about them. As for fitting the challenge, it definitely does, although not the rarest of photos.
Your title is ok; maybe a bit over dramatized. Extra Terrestrial doesn't mean alien, but I guess it fits. The composition is good and B/W was a great choice for this. The Shallow DOF makes sense in this case since all subjects are the same and your background is very hard to make out; cant tell if they are in a bottle or hanging, almost giving this an abstract feel.
All in all, good impressionism, not something I would print and hang up in my kitchen for sure, but a good study. I'm sure fish heads are very good for you!
I would vote between 5 and 6.

ummm... That scared the shit out of me. Thank you for a short rush of adrenalin this late at night. Well composed B&W shot I wish this had a bit more contrast to it. Maybe it's just my monitor?! |

What a total bummer that there's another shot of dead, hanging fish in BW entered in the same "Never Seen on DPC" challenge. LOL! It's good though... (not voting) |

It's not a good sign when there's two similar pics in one "Never Seen on..." challenge. But it's well shot and processed. Great contrast. |

Scary... the BW was a good choice... the upside down orientation too... |

these fish heads look a lot like another person's entry. Did you two go on a gtg? Similar tones as well. The only real difference that I can see is that this is a closer shot with less DOF and theirs was of all the fish and greater DPF. The textures are great but I keep flip flopping on how to score this one. |

Ironic that the category is "never before seen".... and there is another rendition just like this! :) |

There is a similar picture in the contest ... this one grosses me out even more but still a good snap ... |

Some sort of catfish? Not sure about the editing here, the teeth look nice and sharp but the rest seems to be soft with no real detail. The border distracts me a little and that style is (imho) normally reserved for landscape images requiring a little more height. |

Nope, nothing exactly like this on DPC. The one to the left looks a bit like strikeslip I like the high contrast but could live without the top/bottom frame. Overall I like the image. |
