Happy with the voting so far. I wasn't even going to enter this challenge, a couple of hours before the deadline I needed a photo for my blog. I have this orchid that had lost all but one flower. I trimmed the stems to look like this. Never did use it for my blog, used something else. Debated entering this, wasn't really happy with the colour (but it's straight from the camera, my wall is a terra cotta type colour and I used a different white balance setting to get this colour). I only entered it because my partner Joe said it was good. Thanks Joe!

Congratulations Karen! I was away for this challenge, so a little late with well wishes! It's a beautiful image. I love the simplicity of it. It reminds me of a delicate, beautifully lit, Chinese brush painting.

This, I feel should be in one of the winner's circles. I debated for sometime about whether the stems should meet at the base of the photo or not. I never decided.

The lighting is superb. I would love to learn how to do that someday.
