Its never fun getting dumped on your head. Especially when you are riding a horse that's supposed to be broke. I got tossed one spring while out on a ride and fractured the vertebrae at the base of my skull. If I hit a little harder I wouldn't be around today to submit to DPC.
Interesting processing. Usually for these type of the images they tend to be presented "straight up". I like this though. My only complaint (and its a small one) is that the horse look especially shiny. The image appears a little angled but I think it adds to the action.
You captured the action perfectly though I am not sure she'd like to have a print. ;)
In any event, great capture and I hope that she is doing well. |

I'm saddened by the injury, but the Horse was tired of being messed with I guess. As for the image, fantastic capture and use of natural light.

Good capture - your title adds some humor to it! I think straightening the horizon may help a little. Do you have any after photos of the horse chuckling after he bucked her off? (I do hope she didn't sustain any injuries) |

I do that a lot too!..:)
For such action great timing here. That probably makes this a great shot, probably stating the obvious. One might want better clarity in places but given the extreme nature of this, I think it is fine. Hope she(?) wasn't hurt! |

Great shot! But I'm afraid I've seen shots like this on DPC. Here's one example: . I really do like the shot, though -- excellent capture! (and if it's not a fall, there's also a sideways rider shot...) |

Ow. I've been in that position before but it never ended well. I love the color and I like the kick up of dirt at the horses feet. I like the lighting as well. |

Great timing. The technical aspects are spot on, and the timing makes it a memorable shot. |

LOL @ your title turning a tragedy into a funny shot. Well done... even a catchlight on the horse's eye. (not voting) |

I scanned the entries at work today and just went past the thumb without opening it. WOW back at home on a decent monitor this is WAW cool!
I love nitpicking a good shot as I feel the better shots are taken by people who can accept (and probably already know) how their image could be improved. I'm intrigued to know how you cropped this as if the rider were in the saddle in this crop you may well have cut the top of her head off? I'd also have liked you to have straightened the horizon and that would have removed the shadow bottom right. does the orig have all the shadow of the horse visable?
This is an excellent capture and the sunglasses must be worth (at least) 1 point. If I'd taken this I would a) be very proud and b) put it in the free study to be voted on its excellence rather than (maybe) its uniqueness. |
