I would have thought that there would be more carved bowls, but I didn't find hardly any!

Not sure I like the upside down angle. What do you put in that? I like the face of the bowl, from what I can see.

Interesting subject that meets the challenge. Beautiful colors. I just think that you pushed too hard while putting togheter (i) a tight crop, (ii) a shallow DOF and (iii) putting the face upside down. Also, i think it would be better to avoid the diagonal line on the top right.

Yup, I've not seen this before at dpc so fits the challenge well, is it a compelling image to me? well no but do admire the carpentry and history here.
