 Just a little experiment. Two photos combined (15 minutes between them). Made through a window and just guessing the angel (no tripod). Upper left: lots of rain, lower right: the sun came back.

What a very clever idea, and they match up very well, I think! Really shows the difference the quality of light makes in contrast and clarity, doesn't it?

I've never though to use a diagonal to create a diptytch.. it works quite nicely. YOu could possibly bump the contrast a little.
