Ferry shots are great, as there is always something different happening on the water, something else going past, and a viewpoint at things that otherwise wouldn't be seen.
I get bored at times of the blue sky, as clouds processed well can be a brilliant backdrop to a lot of things. I had a quick play around with your image in PS. Upping the contrast, adding some overall saturation and a minor tweak ont he Shaddows/Highlights got a lot out of this really quickly. Your image does look a little flat and grey, but with those changes in PP, it really starts to work, and the boat stands out really well, with a more menacing sky.....'Escaping the Storm'
have a play and see if you agree maybe........A nice image that can really work well |

The various shades and textures of the clouds provide a more interesting backdrop than a clear blue sky would, so no need to apologize for the weather. The splash of water at the prow adds a subtle dynamic that enhances the shot. The few times my situation required ferry transportation, I found the experience to be a real nice mandatory transition zone, good for relaxing between each end of the ride, and good for the view. |

Since I'm landlocked in NE Texas, it's great to see the big outdoors and ocean views!!! Wonderful image. :) |
