Thanks to Lutchenko for modeling with 2 tea towels on his head to represent a terrorist. It was a toss up between this and him wearing a balaclava.

Crop, desaturation, contrast, sharpen, resize, border, save

If only this was advanced editing so that I could sepia tone the face but leave the blue background

Fingers crossed for anything above a six

Greetings from the Critique Club

WOW, this is going to be a tough one to critique, especially without stepping into the realms of controversy.

I found it very interesting to read peoples comments. It seems a lot of people immediately jumped to conclusions about what you are trying to portray here. This to me makes your representation all the more clever. As I see it, all you are trying to show is that terrorists are typically hiding behind anonymity. I see no reference to anything else. I think it says more about the commenters than anything else.

I'm not surprised this didn't break a 6, because there is an element of controversy, but it is a very strong image with a strong message. Well done for a great job.

See my comments in the photograph that finished 12th. I believe you both delved in to stereotypes. It opens the door for interesting discussion. It is funny that the Jew came out ahead!

This is indeed a very powerful image. At first I cringed at the cultural aspect of it, but on reflection, thought that it's only the terrorist i.e. cowards that cover their faces in this way and thus realised the errors of my instinctive reaction. The lighting here is excellent, as is the composition and sharpness. I truly hope that this doesn't suffer b/c of people voting on their initial reaction to this and stop and think. Excellent photo. Should do well.

Not sure about the caption, but I like the color combo and fading/shading effects

Fantastic photograph, the shadows are descriptive. I'm trying to resist the feeling that this represents a stereotype.
