This is actually from a senior portrait shoot that I did for a co-workers daughter. She has done this geisha costumed dancing since she was 9. We also shot her in a pirate outfit (think Keira Knightly in Pirates of the Carribean) and in a vintage 50's dress. It was probably the most fun I've ever had shooting....AND it was my first ever paying gig!

PP was fairly straight forward, did the usual dodging and burning of the eyes and 3 passes of usm with a touch of kodak air brush thrown in for good measure. masked out the gold on her fan and used PS#'s b&w layer.

Selective desat seem to have a tough time on this site so I am not expecting much from this shot, especially a free study. predict maybe a 5.35 if i am lucky. i just loved the shot too much not to post it somewhere and i have not entered a challenge for a while so there ya go

Wonderfully disorienting and weird and campy.

personally, i think that the brightness of the tree to the left is just a little distracting. i think that it would make your model pop more.
everything else is very nice! i also like the selective desaturation is nice too. gives something for the eye to catch a glance at.

i am not voting at this time

I like the concept, but the depth of field is too narrow for me. With everything behind her out of focus, it feels like she's in front of a poster rather than in the actual location

Unique and lovely shot. The eyes are lacking just a little impact to make this a truly brilliant shot. 8
