I think the lighting is hurting this picture. The bushes are blown out and the subject (three rocks) are quite dark. I think I would have tried this from a different angle. From the angle I don't think you could have lightened the rocks at the same time as darkening the very green bush right behind.

Interesting find. Unfortunately the sun was a little harsh that day (bright foliage in the background). A different time of day might help alleviate that problem. I was out in the woods today and had the same problem with shadows and highlites. The subject and framing are both good, but the exposure is a significant detraction.

The dynamic range here is a bit overwhelming--there are not large areas but my guess is the highlights are overexposed. Because of the exposure issue, the scene doesn't stand well on its own, IMHO. The three rocks (I am guessing that's what you mean) aren't a strong subject as composed here either. I think if you had shot the other way, into the shade, and perhaps from a low perspective making the rocks more significant, it would have worked better for me.
