Disturbing, but I don't think anything else comes close to summing up the spirit of the challenge like this one... |

wish the finger was darker, it draws attention away from gun and face |

I'm sure you have already heard this, but the shot would have been much better if it were off to one side. The gun is too far on the right whereas the tapered out face is almost centered.
Otherwise an excellent 'shot'!! 7/10 |

Not voting in this challenge but wanted to comment.
Meets the challenge. Technically, it's well done conveying the message of quitting. The focus is right on on the side of the person's head. Even the lighting fits to conveys the "dark" mood/subject, and draws attention to what he is about to do or is contemplating. The person is looking down which adds to the gloom. So this is probably the most powerful image in the challenge. Even the thumbnail stands out for obvious reasons.
This image is the ultimate in terms of quitting, has a lot of emotional impact. If I were voting on the criteria of the challenge, art, and technical merit, I would probably rate it above average.
On a personal emotional level, I find it distasteful. I think this might be one of those images where viewers are going to appreciate what you are conveying, or hate it. Just my two cents. Good luck on the voting. |

Like the idea. The darkness surrounding your subject adds immensely to the feel of the image. |

Very good "shot"! But I don't think the theme is appropriate. It fits the challenge but not good to see |

My screen at work isnt very well calibrated but from here ti seems a little on the dark side, would have liked to see better contrast. The image/idea is great mind you. 6 (will bump if its not too dark from my home monitor) |

dramatic, appropriate subdued lighting, good focus and texture and good exposure of the black object. |

I would have liked the title to have been "Life" and then let the viewer make the connection |
