 Was watering my plants and pruning my rose bushes and saw these two wilted roses. I figured everyone shots beautiful flowers, why not wilted ones. They still looked beautiful in their own right. So I clipped them off and brought them up to my office, placed them in al old bottle, placed in the window with some lace hanging up behid to diffuse the light some and to give interest to the the background. I am sure some will say it is too busy but I don't care. I tried this with plane background and didn't like it as much. Natural light and used a reflector to bounce some light back into it.

If you pulled the lace back a bit, then blurred it out, it would have given lovely mottled tones. I wonder what this looks like in BnW or sepia.

The background is too distracting. An increased DOF would have produced a better image.

As a subject this could work, however, the background is competing with the subject for attention and takes away from the overall viewing experience. Lighting is "ok", maybe a tad harsh. The flower heads look to be a smidge oversharpened.

I find the background way too busy and distracting. The flower would look a lot better on a plain background.

Why dead flowers, I don't get it. Maybe with a black depression background it would have worked better. The pot looks a tad crooked.
