Here is my ripoff version of an old stereograph card, based on the images in the Library of Congress collection here.
First of all, this probably really isn't a Douglas Fir, so if anyone can set me straight I'd appreciate it!! Next, this is a fake stereo image, meaning instead of changing my position while taking the picture (wish I had thought of it at the time), I cut a little bit off the right side for the left image and a little bit off the left side for the right image. If you can freeview stereo images, you will see there is a bit of a sense of stereo with this method, but nothing like the real thing. Anyway, I did my best to copy the layout of the ones on the LOC site, matching fonts and verbage. Fun!
You can see more detail in the larger version.
Processing was just Color Efex Pro pro contrast filter, then convert to duotone with Silver Efex Pro.
Here is the frame I made based on one of the LOC cards:
I had to resize it and change the color to go with the image, which I used this texture on

Heh, yeah no actual 3D effect when you do the crossed-eyes thing, though the picture does appear set back from the border. Cool fake though, as far as the style is concerned. :) |

What a neat idea, and very well carried out. I thought it was the real thing at first. Thanks for the notes, too. |
