 This is my daughter Genevieve. I was looking for a Forties Hollywood Studio type portrait. This was as close as I could get. Lighting was a bit of a mare! I used a standard household ceiling spotlight and a cone of card to highlight Genevieve's face and a longish exposure.

Very little PP. Convert to B&W, convert from RAW, Resize, Neat Image and save for web.

I am really happy with the result and I hope it does well.

Beautiful shot. Love the simplicity of the black and white, blank backdrop and strategic lighting, adds impact to the face itself, particularly the eyes. One of your best yet!

amazing light.. though, lack of focus on the her left eye, and there is a big whiye reflection in it.. easy photoshop tool could have remove it...

I like the lighting, the pose, and the processing (B/W) choice. A strong entry for the challenge. Perhaps a smidge too much smoothing of the face, but hey, maybe her skin is that smooth? :-)
