Wanna freak out your neighbors, especially in a rural area? Go down to the local marble quarry (one of my town's special products is grave stones) in the middle of the night and start lighting candles. Freak 'em right out.

Other things I learned in this process- light the candles on the rock face from the top down. Fire is hot.

Post-processing involved taking some of the greens down in the shadows using color balance, and levels and unsharp mask. Sadly, I could not remove the firefly, I didn't notice him until I got home, and this was by far the best shot I had compositionally.

I liked the photo, ranked it a 6. I like your Photographer's comments even better. Priceless insights that remind us this is a hobby and should be fun.

I liked this one better at first glance. I think it is a great idea but the cropping is a bit tight to get the real sense of flow. That may also be because of the vertical format. It seems a bit like it is falling out of the frame. It's a little too dark in the shadows.
Judging by your comments, I can't imagine you want to try again but it might be worth it. I gave this a five because the competition was so fierce in this challenge. I did a lot of careful viewing of photos for this challenge and revised a lot of votes. Initially, this got a 6 from me. I really liked the idea. I thought you had buried twinkle lights fairy lights so just the bulbs were showing. I didn't realize the lights were candles. Either way, I liked it.

Interesting and different take on the Challenge. You gave yourself a difficult task to show the river of light with candles alone. I think you probably compromised on a darker exposure so that you wouldn't blow thecandle light too much. It was successful as far as I'm concerned. I like it a lot. Good one.

great setup, love to see this with maybe someone dressed in black moving hanging lights through the bed with like a 30 sec exposure.
